The HQ AFRL Digital Capabilities Directorate Cybersecurity Management Division (IZC) seeks to hire a mid-level, non-Supervisory Information Technology Manager located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead cross functional cybersecurity related project teams including continuous monitoring, comprehensive cybersecurity status reporting, and improvements to the Risk Management Framework process.
- Proactively monitor and report cybersecurity information from multiple sources to AFRL Leadership, Authorizing Official, and Mission Organization/Site cybersecurity teams.
- Coordinate with Security Controls Assessors to advise Authorizing Official based on comprehensive real time information.
- Communicate with DoD, Air Staff, Major Command, and AFRL leadership on requirements and issues related to cybersecurity.
- Champion approach to provide cybersecurity while enabling the complex needs of the AFRL technical environment.
Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in leading, promoting or enabling research into, computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems.
- Computer Scientist (1550): To meet eligibility of a Computer Scientist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. - Information Technology (IT) Specialist (2210): To meet eligibility of an IT Specialist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed several alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of IT system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project. Desired Qualifications
- Experience in challenges and requirements of cybersecurity in the diverse information technology environment supporting the research mission needs of AFRL.
- Experience with a wide variety of IT systems, including laboratory equipment, networks, flight operations and cloud computing.
- Project management experience.
- Experience as an Information System Security Manager.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certification(s) to satisfy DoD 8140 for work code 612 Advanced.
- Certification(s) to satisfy DoD 8140 for work code 612 Intermediate.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework implementations.
- Experience with implementing DoD/AF cybersecurity policy in a research environment or similar.
